Adult Skating Weeks
June 17-23, 2012
August 19-25, 2012
Welcome to Lake Placid Adult Figure Skating!
You will be starting the week off on Sunday with a reception at 7pm (location TBD). Coaches will be introduced and copies of all schedules will be available. There is packet pick-up from 3pm-5pm at the Olympic Center on Sunday or you can just pick up your packet at the reception on Sunday evening.
Throughout the week, you can skate on any adult session that you choose. You may also choose to participate in on-ice and off-ice group classes or special seminars. Private instruction is also available and we suggest that you contact the coach of your choice prior to your arrival.
Back again this year by popular demand is the Wednesday night party! Put away your skating attire and get dressed up for a night of fun! It will be a night to remember featuring games, drinks and prizes.
The week will conclude with an Adult Exhibition followed by a reception in the Hall of Fame Room on Saturday.
If you're still deciding whether or not to come, let some other adults tell you about their experiences in their own words:
"Love love love coming to Adult Week! Coaches are the very best, so encouraging, so talented. Very pleased with the effort to make us feel welcome. Ice was exceptional." Rosemary G.
"Love the camaraderie, the support from everyone, skaters and coaches, Love Lake Placid - the views of the lake and mountains - and the people- everyone is friendly and makes you feel welcome." Ingrid B.
"The Lake Placid Experience is Awesome!" Grace D.
On-Ice Group Classes:
On ice classes are scheduled to supplement your learning experience, expose you to a variety of teaching styles and allow you to choose what you want to work on. The schedule of classes will depend on ice and instructor availability. We do the best we can to offer a variety of classes each day, but due to other commitments of instructors and available ice time that may not always be possible. There are generally 6-10 classes offered per day.
