Our summer figure skating program offers an a la carte style of training which allows skaters to choose classes, sessions and instruction to best suit their needs and goals.

Weekly Programs
Our programs are offered on a weekly basis. Skaters can choose to stay from one week to all eleven weeks of the summer. Sessions are purchased by the week (Monday-Saturday). However, walk on sessions are available on Sundays and can be purchased on-site at the Box Office. We do not offer our regular summer skating program during the weeks of our Figure Skating or Ice Dance Championships. Should a skater choose to stay through those weeks there are limited sessions available on a walk-on basis.
Registration
You must pre-register online for the weeks and the sessions that you want to skate. We recommend doing this as early as possible as some sessions do fill up.
On Sundays between 3pm and 5pm you can pick up weekly schedules, ID Cards and information packets at the Olympic Center.
Housing
Lake Placid Skating offers supervised housing for skaters at the National Sports Academy.
Skaters with parents may choose to stay at a number of hotels, motels, bed & breakfasts or vacation rentals in the Lake Placid area.
Group Classes
Classes are offered Monday-Friday, both on and off the ice. A schedule of classes will be available on a week to week basis, as instructor availability and ice time changes. Classes are not purchased ahead of time, but rather on site so that skaters have the flexibility to change their schedules to meet their needs.
Private Lessons
All of our coaches are independent contractors and therefore make their own lesson schedules. In order to schedule time with coaches, skaters should contact the coach directly. If you have a particular coach in mind, we encourage you to contact them as soon as possible as some coaches do fill up quickly especially during more popular weeks.
If you are new to the program and are unsure of which coach to work with, the first thing you should do is give the list of coaches to your main coach at home. Chances are that they will be able to suggest someone for you to work with. If you are still in need of help, please call us with specific attributes in mind and we will try to help you as best as we can.
