Lake Placid is thrilled to be putting together another great year of synchronized skating programs. We recognize that it takes a lot to be a synchronized skater - turns have to be proficient, spins have to be fast, heads have to be sharp AND it all has to be in synch!
This year we have put together two great programs for synchronized skaters at all levels to improve their skills and have a great time in the process.
Synchronized Skating Camp - ALL LEVELS
With Team USA & World Junior Coach, Josh Babb
June 30-July 6, 2013- $825 per person
(includes housing and meals)
This session is for skaters of all levels. Skaters must be at least 10 years old.
Skaters will participate in daily on-ice sessions. The sessions will include individual skating skills, as well as, team skills. They will be able to improve upon their edge quality, turning ability and speed while also working on synchronized skating elements such as blocks, wheels, lines, circles and moves in the field.
Daily off-ice sessions will include fitness and dance training. Fitness classes are designed with skaters in mind and emphasize agility, speed, balance and core strength. Dance classes will vary on a day to day basis and include ballet, jazz and hip hop.
Skaters will also participate in off-ice team building sessions.
There will be a demonstration for parents on Saturday afternoon.

This session will be for skaters who have passed their INTERMEDIATE moves or above or have skated on a junior team for at least one year. Skaters must be at least 12 years old.
Skaters in this program will have daily on-ice sessions focusing on proper skating technique, difficult turns, posture and overall edge quality. They will then use what they have just improved upon and bring it to a team setting. The on-ice sessions as a team will work on all of the synchronized skating elements such as blocks, circles, wheels, lines, spins, moves in the field and moves in isolation.
Off-ice seminars may include a mental fitness session with a sports psychologist to work on goal setting, imagery and self-confidence. Other off-ice programs may include ballet, zumba, nutrition, leadership and the International Judging System.
